From the 8th to the 11th of December, a delegation of institutional representatives from the Kosovan Municipalities of Dragash/š and Štrpce/Shtërpcë , of social enterprises representatives and of UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) Kosovo, will be in Umbria Region for a training and study mission, organized by FELCOS Umbria in collaboration and upon request of UNDP Kosovo, on the theme of social entrepreneurship.

The mission is part of the project “Local-level Response for Employment Generation and Integrated Territorial Development – InTerDev” promoted by UNDP Kosovo. It will include training sessions, a presentation of the local best practices of the sector, an overview of the peculiarity of the social entrepreneurship in Italy, field visits to some of the most significant social enterprises in Umbria and meetings with institutional representatives of the Municipality of Foligno and Municipality of Spello.

During the first part of the mission the delegation will participate in training sessions led by Andrea Bernardoni of Legacoop Umbria (Regional League Cooperatives and Mutual societies of Umbria) and by Francesca Durastanti from AiCARE (Italian Agency for Responsible and Ethical Agriculture and Countryside). They will have the opportunity to be informed about and analyze the history, the organization and the structure of the social enterprises and  the characteristics and the operation of the agricultural cooperatives.

To follow, the delegation will visit the most well-known Social Cooperatives of the territory in order to witness, first-hand, the Umbrian experience in the field of social enterprises.

The project InTerDev aims to strengthen the individual and institutional skills of the Municipalities of  Dragash / Dragas e Shtërpcë / Štrpce and to facilitate the creation of employment for the people at risk of economic and social exclusion. In particular, the project engages about 450 small agricultural entrepreneurs from the participating zones, who are largely excluded from the current business support and market access services; its specific focus is on young generations and women.
