Havana, March 2015
Supported by UNDP Programme “Articulated Platform for Territorial Comprehensive Sustainable Development” (PADIT) - United Nations Programme for Development in Cuba, the Artemisa Government promotes key issues for local development and has established the management of geographic and cadastral information as a key matter; contributing to one of the national priorities that seeks to accomplish the update of urban and rural cadasters within the year 2021.
Counting on the participation of the National Statistics Office, the Institute of Physical Planning, GeoSI and Investigación companies, the Consultant's office of the Corporate Group GEOCUBA, as well as the Provincial and Municipal Direction of Information, Physical Planning and Artemisa Board of Directors' project team, a two day intensive workshop was developed in order to address these national-territorial issues.
The workshop counted on the participation of, as special guest, Architect Bianca Penélope Silva Vela, Director of the Territorial Politics of the Secretary of Territorial and Urban Development in Mexico, who shared Mexican experiences.
There was no doubt that the protagonists of the meeting were the provincial and municipal specialists associated with the cadastral and information activities in the Artemisia Province, who were able to identify key challenges and draft up a roadmap towards the achievement of national objectives.
Participants agreed on actions that will contribute to perfecting the management of information in order to improve the quality of the decision making process in the 2015-2016 period. Following below, a summary of the key actions to be taken in each case:
