The II World Forum of Local Economic Development, co-organised by the Brazilian Itaipu Binacional/Technological Park of Itaipu, SEBRAE, FAMSI, UCLG, FOGAR and UNDP was held from October 29th to November 1st and was inaugurated by high level representatives, including the Minister Chief of Staff of Brazil (Minister of Casa Civil), Ms. Gleisi Hoffmann, and the UNDP Associate Administrator, Ms. Rebeca Grynspan; the former President of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, participated in the final plenary session, closing the event.
