The event was co-organised by the Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV), International Labour Organization (ILO), ITAIPU Binacional, Regions United/FOGAR, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), Andalucían Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity (FAMSI), Federation of Canadian Municipalities, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and UN WOMEN.
The event was the occasion for local, regional, and national authorities and UN agencies to discuss how local economic development may address the main challenges and opportunities shaping human settlements and territories in the context of a post-2015 global development agenda.
