We are pleased to present the “Spanish Journal of Development and Cooperation”, whose third number has been coordinated by Aldo García, international development expert and former Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Uruguay, Giovanni Camilleri, Coordinator of the UNDP ART Initiative and Felipe Gonzalez, Professor of International Relations at the University of the Basque Country/EHU.
In its 37th publication, the magazine has chosen decentralized cooperation and its role in the implementation of the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as the central subject, dedicating an entire section to it and seven articles written by experts in sustainable development at the local level.
In particular, please find herewith enclosed the magazine’s index and an article on the subject (in Spanish). Written by Aldo García and Giovanni Camilleri, the article analyzes the different actors involved in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and emphasizes the potential of the territorial approach in implementing a sustainable development strategy, not only at the local level, but also nationally and globally. This territorial dimension promotes collaboration among citizens, local administration and national governments, being the three of them in charge of the implementation and thus capable of ensuring the impact of the SDGs.
We wish you a pleasant reading.
