25 March 2015, Tunis (Tunisia)
From the 24th to 28th of March 2015, the city of Tunis will host the 2015 edition of the World Social Forum. The Forum was created in 2001 as an open meeting space where social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations debate ideas and proposals on social and governance issues (youth, inclusive policies, etc.).
In this framework, a Tunisian consortium of civil society organizations, coordinated by the Tunisian National Council for Liberties, and the Fund of Local Authorities for Decentralized Cooperation and Sustainable Human Development of Umbria Region (Italy) collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme in Tunisia and the UNDP ART Initiative, are pleased to invite you to a session on the role of local actors in strengthening social cohesion, democracy and sustainable development.
The event, divided in two round tables, will provide a space for discussion on the contributions of local actors in the consolidation of the dynamics of change in favor of social cohesion and the promotion of an integrated and sustainable local development at local, national and global level.
The first panel will focus on the contributions that different territorial actors and CSOs can make to the promotion of social cohesion. Then, after analyzing the opportunities related to strengthening the dialogue between local actors, the discussion will focus on the importance of the dialogue between actors of different territories engaged in working together for the promotion of sustainable human development.
